Singer-comedian Jackie Hoffman will give a career-spanning New York City concert January 25 as part of Lincoln Center’s 2018 American Songbook series.
Fresh off her Broadway run as Mrs. Teavee in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and her Emmy-nominated performance as Mamacita in the 2017 FX series Feud: Bette and Joan, Hoffman will bring her comedic talents to a set of show tunes, covers, and original songs at the 8:30 PM show in the Appel Room in Manhattan.
Hoffman is a regular at Joe’s Pub at the Public Theatre in New York City, where she has performed a string of solo shows, including her long-running The Kvetching Continues. On Broadway, Hoffman has played Prudy Pingleton in in Hairspray,Aphrodite and Calliope in Xanadu, and Grandma in The Addams Family.
Entering its 19th season, the American Songbook series celebrates the achievements of American songwriters. The series gives artists an opportunity to explore an entire catalog of work for a deep dive into their influences and creative identity.
Coming up in the series: Passing Strange collaborators Stew and Heidi Rodewald (February 7); Crazy Ex-Girlfriend star and creator Rachel Bloom and series collaborator Adam Schlesinger (February 10); Tony nominee Justin Vivian Bond will perform an evening dedicated to Karen Carpenter February 15; and Tony-nominated War Paint, Grey Gardens, and Far From Heaven songwriters Scott Frankel and Michael Korie will be joined by Tony winner Kelli O’Hara and Julian Ovenden February 17.

Proceeds from the event support Self Help Africa's work to alleviate hunger, poverty, social inequality, and the impact of climate change in sub-Saharan Africa.
