News Comic Yakov Smirnoff to Laugh It Up on Broadway, Feb. 23-April 14 Yakov Smirnoff, the comic who made a career during the last years of the Cold War by comically dissecting the relationship between the USSR and the United States, will bring his new one-man show, As Long as We Both Shall Laugh, to the American Airlines Theatre.

The act will play Sundays and Monday beginning Feb. 23 and ending April 14. Opening is March 31.

The bearded and cuddly Smirnoff was a familiar face on the late night talk shows during the era of Gorbachev and Glasnost, but faded from the spotlight after the Berlin Wall and Communist Russia fell.

The comic has accordingly reworked his routine. A press statement read: "Yakov has shifted his focus to an even greater challenge, guaranteeing him long-term job security—the relationship between men and women. Yakov says, 'Now, it's time to break down the wall between the genders.'"

Tickets range from $40-$65. Call (212) 719-1300 or visit the box office at the American Airlines Theatre at 227 West 42nd Street.
