Michael Feinstein, who has been called the ambassador of the American popular song, returns to this namesake cabaret on Nov. 25 with a new show titled A Holiday Keepsake.
Featuring classic holiday tunes as well as brand-new compositions, the show will also feature the talents of singer-actress Gloria Reuben, known for her work on such TV series as "The Agency" and "ER." Feinstein and Reuben will play the posh cabaret Nov. 25-Dec. 7 and again Dec. 17-28. Their evenings will also include a tribute to Feinstein's late friend, singer Rosemary Clooney.
A three-time Grammy nominee, singer-pianist Michael Feinstein is often credited with reinvigorating the American popular song. The crooner has performed in concert halls around the world and on Broadway and now co-owns his own nightclub, Feinstein's at the Regency. His numerous solo recordings include "Michael and George: Feinstein Sings Gershwin," "Big City Rhythms" "Romance On Film, Romance On Broadway" and "Michael Feinstein with The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra." The singer pianist recently teamed with Concord Records to create a new label that will preserve hidden treasures of the American Popular Songbook. The subsidiary label, Feinery, has just released its first recording, "Michael Feinstein Sings the Livingston & Evans Songbook."
A Holiday Keepsake will be offered Tuesday through Saturday evenings at 8:30 PM with late shows on Friday and Saturday nights at 11 PM. There is a $30 minimum for all shows, and cover charges range from $45 to $75. Feinstein's at the Regency is located in Manhattan at 540 Park Avenue at 61st Street. Call (212) 339-4095 for reservations.
