Karen Sunde's play is billed as "a politically-charged drama about young strangers divided by a holy war who learn about friendship when faced with their enemy."

According to production notes, "Set in the Israeli security zone near the Lebanese border, How His Bride Came to Abraham tells the story of Abe, a Jewish Israeli officer, and Sabra, a young Palestinian fighter, who are forced to spend the night together in an underground shelter. Personalizing the Middle East crisis without actually taking sides, [the play] focuses on two people, split by religion and politics, who overcome their initial hatred and fear only to realize they share a mutual desire for warmth and acceptance."

This is the professional premiere of the play, which             has been seen in workshop productions at Playwrights Theatre of New Jersey (2002) and Praxis Theatre Project (2003).

Karen Sunde is an actor, playwright and screenwriter, as well as a former associate director of CSC Repertory in New York City. As an actor, she has performed in more than 60 Off-Broadway productions. As a playwright, her plays have been produced Off-Broadway, in regional theatres, for an American tour and internationally — in 10 countries and seven languages to be exact. Her plays include Balloon, Truth Takes a Holiday, Dark Lady, Haiti: A Dream, To Moscow, Oh Wild West Wind, Anton, Himself, Masha Too and In a Kingdom by the Sea.

Sunde is currently working on The Fastest Woman Alive, a new play about the life of aviator Jacqueline Cochran, the first woman to break the speed of sound. How His Bride Came to Abraham is directed by Cynthia Levin (Unicorn producing artistic director). The cast features Michael Stock (as Abe) and Alyssa Cartwright (as Sabra).
