Money raised at the concert reading of the dark musical by Stephen Dolginoff will support the Developmental Reading Series, known for offering a roof and an eager audience to young shows in need of a sense of home as they continue to develop.
Thrill Me has book, music and lyrics by Stephen Dolginoff. The presentation 7:30 PM presentation Aug. 1 will feature the original cast that appeared in Manhattan in 2003.
Following the concert will be a CD signing of the recently released Thrill Me cast album on the OC (Original Cast) label.
The York is the Off-Broadway troupe devoted to new musicals and revivals of classics.
* Thrill Me is billed as "the chilling tale of the two legendary thrill-killers who in 1924 committed what was then known as the crime of the century: the unmotivated murder of a young boy."
The concert will feature Christopher Totten as Nathan Leopold and Matthew S. Morris as Richard Loeb. Their performances are preserved on the CD documenting the 2003 production at the Fourth Annual Midtown International Theatre Festival, produced by Jim Kierstead. Pianist for the concert will be Eugene Gwozdz.
