John Weidman, one of the creators of Contact, the innovative new "dance play" now playing at the Mitzi Newhouse Theatre at Lincoln Center Theater, will discuss his collaboration with choreographer Susan Stroman in LCT's ongoing Platform Series. Weidman will speak on Oct. 13. The forum will take place at 6:30 PM in the lobby of the Vivian Beaumont Theater. Contact is made up of a trio of self-contained dance pieces, each mapped out dramatically by book writer Weidman (Assassins, Wise Guys) and choreographed by Stroman (Oklahoma!, Crazy for You). The three pieces -- "Swing," "Did You Move?" and "Contact," in that order -- increase in length and complexity, with "Contact," the story of a suicidal ad exec brought back to life by the dancing of a mysterious girl in a yellow dress, dominating the evening. Boyd Gaines and newcomer Deborah Yates star in "Contact." Longtime Stroman interpreter Karen Ziemba is at the center of "Did You Move?"

The Platform series is free and open to the public; seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, beginning at 6 PM.
