The new limited six-week run, starring Leslie Lyles (Roulette) and Gerry Bamman (Nixon's Nixon), starts July 28 (during the Democratic National Convention) and will play through Sept. 4 (amid the Republican National Convention).

In the comedy, set at a creative writing workshop, the title character Mrs. Farnsworth shares with the class the opening to her in-the-works novel about an old lover. Upon further exploration into the plot, the lover begins to resemble a certain successful Republic from a privileged family.

Also featured in the show will be original cast members Danny Burstein, as Mrs. Farnsworth's writing instructor, with Kate Benson, Fernando Gambaroni and Tarajia Morrell.

The piece is directed by Jim Simpson, artistic director of The Flea Theatre and Weaver's husband.

Actress Weaver had told Playbill On-Line of her hopes the show will transfer to another space, "It would be wonderful if we could play it more this year... I hope that perhaps we'll be scooped up and put in a small theatre elsewhere, so that we can continue to do the play a while longer." Lithgow has since been cast in the upcoming musical Dirty Rotten Scoundrels — a stage version based on the 1988 film starring Michael Caine and Steve Martin. The staging beings previews at San Diego's Old Globe Theatre, Sept. 15.
