The legendary Broadway soprano will  play the Massachusetts venue Aug. 15 at 7 PM. Cook replaces the previously announced Elaine Stritch, who has postponed her Great Barrington concert date because of her upcoming run in the Broadway revival of A Little Night Music.

Patrons who have already purchased Stritch tickets may call the box office to request a refund or to use their tickets to see Barbara Cook.

Barbara Cook, a 2010 Tony nominee for her performance in Sondheim on Sondheim, has starred on Broadway in Flahooley, Candide, The Gay Life, The Music Man and She Loves Me. She received a Best Featured Actress in a Musical Tony Award for her performance in The Music Man, and her one-woman show, Mostly Sondheim, was nominated for a Tony in the Best Special Theatrical Event category. Cook was also seen on the New York stage in Barbara Cook's Broadway. Both Mostly Sondheim and Barbara Cook's Broadway were recorded for DRG. Cook made her solo debut at the Metropolitan Opera, which was also released on DRG Records. Her newest CD, also on DRG, is titled "Rainbow 'Round My Shoulder."

Tickets for Cook's concert, priced $52-$87, are available by visiting www.mahaiwe.org.
