News Corey Boardman and David Murgittroyd Will Be Outlaws at NYMF
Corey Boardman and David Murgittroyd will star in Outlaws: The Ballad of Billy the Kid, the rock musical by Perry Liu, Joe Calarco and Alastair William King, which will debut as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival in late September.

Jenn Rapp will direct and choreograph the musical about the icon of the Wild West, which will run Sept. 26-Oct. 9 at the McGinn/Cazale Theater. Outlaws has music by King and Liu, lyrics by Liu, and book by Liu, Calarco and Alastair William King.

Boardman (Next to Normal, Altar Boyz, Academy) will star in the title role, with Murgittroyd as Pat, Isabel Santiago (In the Heights) as Celsa, Justin Gregory Lopez (The Tenth Floor) as Chavez, Travis McClung as Tom and Antonio Addeo (Academy) as Charlie.

According to NYMF: "A media sensation before his time, Billy the Kid was one of the Wild West’s most infamous outlaws. He, Pat Garrett and their young gang live a rebellious carefree life, but that quickly changes after Billy draws his gun. On the run, these ‘kids’ must learn to grow up…the hard way. Driven by a heart-pounding rock score, this edgy musical spins a tale of youth and friendship, fame and violence in America."

Todd Underwood will serve as associate director/choreographer, with musical director Chris Blisset. The creative team also includes David Gallo (scenic design), Sky Switser (costume design), Betsy Adams (lighting design), Jon Weston (sound design) and J. David Brimmer (fight choreographer).

The McGinn/Cazale Theater is located at 2162 Broadway. For further information visit NYMF.
