Additional artists have been announced for The 24 Hour Musicals, which will take place October 29 at Broadway's American Airlines Theatre.
This year’s event benefits The Lillys and will pay homage to the women who are changing the landscape of American theatre, with appearances by Lynn Nottage, Lisa Kron, Kristen Anderson-Lopez, Todd London, and Sarah Ruhl.
Previously announced participants included actors Jackie Cruz, Lea DeLaria, Savion Glover, Norm Lewis, Jose Llana, John Mulaney, Patti Murin, Bebe Neuwirth, Molly Ringwald, Jordan Roth, and Will Swenson; directors Carolyn Cantor, Kathleen Marshall, Robert O’Hara, and Kate Whoriskey; and writers and composers Ashley Nicole Black, Kristen Childs, Jonathan Coulton, Amanda Green, Aimee Mann, Julia Mattison, Lauren Pritchard, Jonathan Marc Sherman, and Rona Siddiqui.
The theatrical marathon, inspired by The 24 Hour Plays, assembles teams of writers and directors at random at 11 PM on the evening prior to the performance. The creative teams must complete the book and score by the time the actors arrive at 9 AM the next morning. They must be ready to perform in front of a live audience by 8 PM that evening.
Zac Zinger will lead the orchestra for the evening, and Sarah O’Gleby and Rick and Jeff Kuperman are choreographers.
