Corin Redgrave, son of Michael, sister of Vanessa, stars as the bad-anger-management king. Bill Alexander directs. His previous productions for the company include the famous Richard III, which propelled Anthony Sher to fame and fortune. After an absence of ten years, Alexander returned to the RSC to take on Lear and Titus Andronicus (two of the Bard’s grimmest plays). The cast also includes Pal Aron, Louise Bangay, Sian Brooke, Peter Bygott, Caolan Byrne, Samuel Clemens, Matt Cross, Ruth Gemmell, Sean Hannaway, David Hargreaves, Louis Hilyer, Michael G. Jones, Tam Mutu, John Normington, Emily Raymond, Matthew Rhys, Jack Whitam, Leo Wringer and Anatol Yusef. Set designs are by Tom Piper, costumes by Kandis Cook, lighting by Tim Mitchell, sound by David Tinson, music by Jonathan Goldstein and fights directed by Malcolm Ransom.

The show plays The Albery until Feb. 5. After that, it will be replaced by another Stratford export, Macbeth, starring Greg Hicks and Sian Thomas (who played another Shakespearean husband and wife in an earlier Albery turn — as the parents of Toby Stephens’ Hamlet).
