The workshop presentation will include the talents of Christine Corpuz (A Midsummer Night's Dream), Nina Hellman (The Internationalist), Michael Izquierdo (Mother Courage and Her Children), Jessica Love and Keith Powell. Additional casting is expected shortly.
A contemporary revision of Alfred de Musset's On ne badine pas avec l'amour, Matschullat's play, according to press notes, "interpolates Abelard, Heloise, instant messaging, and the power elite into a powerful cocktail of love, drama, and humor. In this new version, an old romantic French play has a seriously new American bite. Utilizing the latest technology, including projections and cutting edge interactive media, Kay Matschullat and a fantastic cast and designers explore love and family in the 21st century."
Award-winning downtown musical act Antony & the Johnsons have created the music featured in Don't Fuck with Love. The evening will also include multimedia design work by Lenore Doxsee, Greg King, Clint Ramos, Guy Sherman, Addie Wagneknecht and Stefan Hechenberger of EYEBEAM.
Don't Fuck with Love was first presented by Red Bull's Revelation Reading series under the artistic director of Jesse Berger.
