CHICAGO -- Chicago's enterprising Lifeline Theatre thrives on full- blooded adaptations -- Jane Eyre, Vanity Fair, Pride and Prejudice, The Talisman Ring. Opening June 17 in a world- premiere adaptation by Christina Calvit, Cotillion, Lifeline's dramatization of Georgette Heyer's bodice-ripping novel depicts the exploits of Kitty, a resourceful young adventuress in Regency England who finds herself caught up in a delirious month-long whirl of London matchmaking, exquisite balls and unexpected revelations. Somehow witty Kitty manages to both navigate the pitfalls of high society and save herself from a disastrous arranged marriage.
