Members of the League, the off-Broadway League, ATPAM, artistic or management heads of non-profit institutional theatres, an entertainment attorney or a past "CTI Fourteen-Week Program" participant must nominate a candidate for the intensive.
The advanced level 14-week program, which is limited to only 25 participants, discusses the ins and outs of producing for Broadway, Off-Broadway and the road through lectures and discussions. Particular attention is given to the relationship between the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors in project development.
Prospective candidates will be selected by Victoria Bailey, executive director of Theatre Development Fund (TDF); Charlotte St. Martin, executive director of the League of American Theatres and Producers; Ed Sandler, membership director of the League of American Theatres and Producers; and Jed Bernstein, program director for the Commercial Theater Institute.
CTI offers several workshops throughout the year. The current Creative Development Intensive, which leads producers through the developmental process of a new commercial work, features case studies from the creative teams of In the Heights, Radio Golf, Spring Awakening and The Color Purple.
The 14-week intensive will run from Jan. 21–April 21, 2008. The deadline for nominations is Nov. 30. For applications and further information on all CTI programs, visit www.CommercialTheaterInstitute.com.
