Directed by Keen artistic director Carl Forsman, the comedy, which was translated by Tom Stoppard, will officially open at the Clurman March 8. Performances continue through April 11.

The cast comprises Tony Award winners John Cullum and Ron Holgate and Jonathan Hogan. (Holgate replaced the previously announced Tony Roberts, who withdrew from the production "to attend to family matters," according to a recent press release.)

Heroes, according to press notes, is an "evocative comedy about three World War I veterans living in a veterans' home who plot a new assault – a trip to a stand of poplar trees in the distance. But should they bring the stone dog with them?"

Sibleyras says the play, a 2006 Olivier Award winner for Best Comedy, is "about the universal desire to escape the confines of life."

The production features scenic design by Beowulf Boritt, costume design by Theresa Squire, lighting design by Josh Bradford and sound design by Will Pickens. John Cullum earned Tony Awards for his work in On the Twentieth Century and Shenandoah. His extensive stage career also includes August: Osage County, On a Clear Day You Can See Forever, Urinetown, Man of La Mancha, Aspects of Love, 110 in the Shade and the recent Lincoln Center mounting of Cymbeline. Cullum is well known for his Emmy-nominated work on television's "Northern Exposure."

Jonathan Hogan's Broadway credits include Fifth of July, As Is (Tony and Drama Desk nominations) and Burn This. He was also a member of Circle Rep for 25 years. Hogan's screen credits include "In Country," "The House on Carroll Street" and "Law & Order."

Ron Holgate won a Tony Award for his performance in the original production of 1776 and was Tony-nominated for his work in The Grand Tour. He has also been seen on Broadway in Kiss Me, Kate; Annie Get Your Gun; Lend Me a Tenor; Musical Chairs; The Grand Tour; Saturday Sunday Monday; A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum; and Milk and Honey.

The Clurman Theater is located at 410 West 42nd Street in Manhattan. Tickets are available by calling (212) 279-4200 or by visiting www.ticketcentral.com.
