This summer, several New York branches of Barnes & Noble bookstores will host signings by notable actor-authors.

On July 23 Mike Daisey, who currently stars Off-Broadway in Doing Time @ Amazon.com, will sign copies of the book upon which his play at the Cherry Lane Theatre is based. Daisey spent three years at the famed dot com, and his book/play is a dark, humorous account of his time working for that internet company. In addition to the signing, Daisey will read excerpts from the tome and will answer questions from those in attendance. Daisey's appearance is scheduled for 7:30 to 8:30 PM at the Astor Place branch of Barnes & Noble, located at 4 Astor Place.

The young "Sopranos" star Jamie-Lynn Sigler, scheduled to make her Broadway debut Oct. 1 as Belle in Disney's Beauty and the Beast, has co-authored a book with Sheryl Berk. Entitled "Wise Girl," Sigler's volume offers advice and insight from the teen star. Sigler will sign copies of the book at 1 PM on Aug. 12 at the Barnes & Noble located at 600 Fifth Avenue (Fifth Ave. & 48th Street).

The Tony-winning Emcee of the hit Cabaret revival, Alan Cumming, will offer a reading from his new book, "Tommy's Tale," on Sept. 4 at the Union Square Barnes & Noble (33 East 17th Street). Cumming — who will star in a production of Elle mounted by his theatre group, The Art Party, from July 17 through July 31 — will also sign copies of the novel beginning at 7 PM.
