News Cynthia Erivo Gives Beyonce's "Single Ladies" a Shakespearean Twist Color Purple star Cynthia Erivo joined a host of actors on Twitter in giving favorite pop songs a Shakespearean twist. The trend, which goes by the hashtag #15secondshakespeare, involves reading the song lyrics with the same intensity usually given to the Bard's verse.

#15secondshakespeare was debuted by British actress Amanda Abbington Sept. 20 with her re-interpretation of Pharell's no.1 hit, "Happy." Other actors who jumped on the trend included "You're the Worst" actor Chris Geere, Oscar nominee Minnie Driver, "True Blood"'s Stephen Moyer, "Paddington"'s Tim Downie and BAFTA winner Jason Watkins, among others.
