Tony winner Daisy Eagan (The Secret Garden) stars as Laura, an affluent, obsessive high school cheerleader in Be Aggressive, playing July 17-Aug. 18 at TheatreWorks' Lucie Stern Theatre in Palo Alto, California. Arena Stage artistic director Wendy C. Goldberg helms the fresh Annie Weisman comedy, opening July 20.

When Laura (Eagan) loses her mother in a car accident, she seeks solace from the pain by throwing herself obsessively into cheerleading. Inspired by Weisman's teen years in affluent Del Mar, CA, Be Aggressive examines the problems of losing someone you love in a world of smoothie shops, environmentalism and too much wealth. Be Aggressive had its world premiere in July, 2001 at La Jolla Playhouse with Eagan as Laura's younger sister, Hannah.

Joining Eagan are Amanda Duarte as Laura's cheer-sister and best friend, Leslie, Jackson Davis as Laura's father Phil, Sarah Lord as Hannah and Julia Brothers as Judy.

Tickets are $20-$45. The Lucie Stern Theatre is located at 1305 Middlefeild Road. For tickets, call (650) 903-6000. TheatreWorks is on the web at http://www.theatreworks.org.
