"We maintain our commitment to the production of new works by the most original voices in the American and world theatre," artistic director James Bundy stated. "The currency and national importance of these new plays will be complemented by invigorating new productions of Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard directed by Yale Rep associate artist Bill Rauch and Shakespeare's All's Well That Ends Well."
The New Haven company will also team with Connecticut colleague the Long Wharf Theatre to present Mabou Mines' Dollhouse, March 31-April 1, 2006. Conceived, directed and adapted by Lee Breuer from Henrik Ibsen's classic, the new take on the drama casts all female roles with tall actresses, and male roles are played by actors under five feet tall.
A sixth play as well as casting and creative teams will be announced shortly. Productions will be performed at the University Theatre (at 222 York Street), New Theater (1156 Chapel Street) and the Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street).
