News Daniel Radcliffe to Star in New Film "Brooklyn Bridge" Daniel Radcliffe, who will return to Broadway later this season, will star in the new film "Brooklyn Bridge," according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The film, which will be directed by Douglas McGrath, tells the story of an inexperienced engineer who, following the death of his father, oversees the construction of the Brooklyn Bridge. He becomes obsessed with completing the job, at the cost of his health and family, until he discovers his an ally in his wife. 

The film will be produced by Christine Vachon for Killer Films and Rose Ganguzza.

"Having Daniel’s involvement is a massive coup for the film. Not only is he perfect for the role, but he’s consistently proved himself to be one of the very few actors who is genuinely a massive draw for audiences of all ages," Goldcrest Films managing director Pascal Degove told the Hollywood Reporter.

Radcliffe has performed on Broadway in Equus and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and will star in the upcoming transfer of Martin McDonagh's The Cripple of Inishmaan in April. His film work includes "Harry Potter," "Kill Your Darlings," "The Woman in Black" and "December Boys."

"Brooklyn Bridge" is set to shoot in August 2014. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.
