"Invited back by popular demand," according to a release, the actor returns for an 11:45 PM performance at the downtown Manhattan venue.
Summer Mix Tape is billed as "a mini-tribute to the making of mix tapes which truly climaxed in America in the late 1980s. The songs are classic rock. The stories are nostalgic, humiliating reminiscences of a childhood spent being the eighth of nine children."
Accompanied by a rock band, the singing actor will also be joined onstage by guest star singer-comedienne Wendy Ho (Logo's "NewNowNext").
The band features Steve Gibb (guitar/music director), Kevin Dow (drums), Steve "Hoops" Snyder (keyboards), Ken Dow (bass) and David Speers (horns) with back-up vocals by Amy Wren.
Reichard plays Bob Gaudio in Jersey Boys, a role he created at the La Jolla Playhouse. The actor made his New York debut in Forbidden Broadway: 20th Anniversary Celebration and then played Keith Haring in the Public Theater's Radiant Baby. He appeared Off-Broadway in The Thing About Men, and his regional credits include productions of Brigadoon and Blood Drive.
Tickets ($25) to Summer Mix Tape at Joe's Pub, in the Public Theater at 425 Lafayette Street, are available by calling (212) 967-7555 or by visiting joespub.com.
