News David Alan Grier and Kerry Washington to Appear in Upcoming Film "We the Peeples" Tony Award nominee David Alan Grier and Kerry Washington, who recently appeared on Broadway together in David Mamet's Race, will co-star again in the upcoming film "We the Peeples," according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Craig Robinson will also star in the comedy; he will play a child psychologist who shows up at the annual Sag Harbor get-together of his girlfriend's (Washington) political family and finds them in strong need of therapy. Grier received Tony nominations for Race and The First. He has also appeared in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Dreamgirls, The Wiz and A Soldier's Play. He is known for his TV appearances, including "Chocolate News" and "In Living Color." Simon & Schuester recently published his memoir, "Barack Like Me: The Chocolate-Covered Truth."

Washington made her Broadway debut in Race and will appear in the upcoming film "For Colored Girls." Other screen credits include "The Last King of Scotland," "Ray," "Lakeview Terrace," "She Hate Me," "Little Man" and "Save the Last Dance."

Lionsgate will release "We the Peeples," which is written and will be directed by Tina Gordon Chism. Shooting will begin in November in Connecticut.
