News David Mamet Will Be a Guest Voice on "The Simpsons" Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Mamet will make a guest voice appearance on the long-running animated sitcom "The Simpsons" in January 2011, according to ew.com.

Mamet will play a variation of himself on "The Simpsons": In the episode the animated Mamet writes the fictional 1980s sitcom "Thicker Than Waters," which becomes an obsession of Homer's. Mamet's famous penchant for four-letter words will also be in evidence in one scene (although the profanity will be bleeped for the Fox network).

A Pulitzer Prize winner for Glengarry Glen Ross, Mamet's other plays include A Life in the Theatre, Oleanna, Speed-the-Plow, American Buffalo, November, Sexual Perversity in Chicago, Boston Marriage, The Duck Variations, Edmond and The Cryptogram. He is an Academy Award nominee for his screenplays to "Wag the Dog" and "The Verdict."

"The Simpsons" airs Sundays at 8 PM ET on Fox.
