Soprano Deborah Voigt appears tonight as part of Lincoln Center's American Songbook series this season, in what the center bills as her cabaret debut.

Voigt will appear in the Allen Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Rose Hall. She will sing "her favorite pop standards, as well as a few surprises," according to a press release; Ted Sperling, a veteran Broadway musical director, will accompany her.

The American Songbook season includes Broadway singer Brian Stokes Mitchell, jazz vocalist Andy Bey, actress and singer Victoria Clark, and movie and stage star Bernadette Peters, among others; pop singer Nellie McKay was recently added to the schedule. The series will pay tribute to the songwriters John Bucchino, Jule Styne, Burt Bacharach, David Zippel, and Cy Coleman.
