Classic Arts News Delaware Symphony President William Van Blarcom Is Dead at 56 William A. Van Blarcom Jr., the president of the Delaware Symphony, died on September 3, the Baltimore Sun reports. He was 56, and had suffered from prostate cancer.
Van Blarcom had served as executive director of the Wilmington-based orchestra before being promoted to president earlier this year. Trained in business, he had previously worked for banks in Baltimore and Wilmington, and was the founder of Managing Partners, a marketing, fundraising, and management firm.
