The 2005 concert, conducted by New York Philharmonic music director Lorin Maazel, will feature several tunes never before heard at a New Year's Concert, including Strauss's Indigo-March and Haute vol_e-Polka.
Deutsche Grammophon first recorded the New Year's Concert in 1980, and has released CDs of the last two concerts under a three-year deal signed in 2002. The company will rush the 2005 disc through production, getting it into stores on January 7. An SACD and DVD will follow on January 11 and 17.
