News DiPietro's Gay Take on La Ronde Gets Chicago Reading March 30 F**king Men, playwright Joe DiPietro contemporary gay twist on Arthur Schnitzler's La Ronde will get a private reading March 30 at Theatre Building Chicago under the direction of Tom Mullen. The reading is in anticipation of a future Windy City production.

Mullen recently directed a commercial Chicago run of the London musical, Tomorrow Morning, at Victory Gardens Greenhouse, and staged a resident Chicago production of Urinetown.

F**king Men, at King's Head Theatre, is the longest running current Fringe show in London, extended twice.

The Chicago reading cast will include Jarrod Zimmerman, Peter Durkin, Boyd Harris, Cameron Johnson, John Sanders, Jon Runnfeldt, Rob Lindley, Kevin Mayes, Matt Amador and Brian Damson.

DiPietro is best known for writing the book and lyrics to the long-running Off-Broadway and international hit I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change. He's currently represented Off-Broadway with the musical The Toxic Avenger. His new musical, Memphis, is aiming for Broadway.

Mullen directed and choreographed Tomorrow Morning at Victory Gardens Greenhouse, I Love You, You're Perfect Now Change for Noble Fool Theatricals, the premiere of JOE! at Chicago Dramatist. His production of Urinetown at the Mercury Theatre was nominated for seven Joseph Jefferson Awards, including Best Musical and Best Director of a Musical. La Ronde (also known as Reigen or Hands Around) is the controversial 1897 play that shows a succession of ten pairs of lovers that begins with contact with a prostitute.
