News Disney Announces "Worry-Free Winter" Ticket Exchange Policy for Lion King, Mary Poppins Disney Theatrical Productions announced a new ticket policy Nov. 19, which will allow The Lion King and Mary Poppins' theatregoers to exchange their tickets for performances between Jan. 3 and March 10, 2011, for any performance that is currently on sale after Jan. 3, 2011.

Ticket holders may exchange their tickets in advance at any point until noon the day of their originally scheduled performance. They may be exchanged via Ticketmaster or in person at the box offices at the Minskoff and New Amsterdam Theatres.

There is no charge for the service, although Ticketmaster convenience charges apply on phone, Internet and outlet orders. There is also no limit to the number of tickets  that may be exchanged.

“People have busy lives and need more flexibility when the unexpected happens and plans change. We recognize the time is right to reduce restrictions and put more power in the hands of the customer, so now our Mary Poppins and The Lion King ticket holders can change plans just as they can change airline and hotel reservations,” David Schrader, executive vice president and managing director of Disney Theatrical Productions, said in a statement. “Making plans to attend a Broadway show is about escaping for an evening’s entertainment or celebrating a special event – our aim is to make advance planning simple and worry free."

The Lion King is currently running at the Minskoff Theatre, with Mary Poppins playing at the New Amsterdam.
