The musical, featuring book and lyrics by Timothy Mason and music by Mel Marvin, continues through Dec. 28. 

Directed by James Vásquez, the production stars Steve Blanchard in the title role. Blanchard, who played The Grinch in the 2011 and 2012 engagements, has appeared on Broadway in Beauty and the Beast, Camelot and The Three Musketeers.

Making their Old Globe debuts are Taylor Coleman (Rainbow Fish) and Gabriella Dimmick (The Sound of Music), who alternate in the role of Cindy-Lou Who. The production also features Steve Gunderson (Suds: The Rocking ‘60s Musical Soap Opera, Forever Plaid) as Old Max and Jeffrey Schecter (Nice Work If You Can Get It, Anything Goes) as Young Max.

The cast also includes Geno Carr (Papa Who); Bets Malone (Mama Who); Victor Morris (Grandpa Who); Eileen Bowman (Grandma Who); Isabelle Simone Pizzurro and Kaitlyn O'Leary (Annie Who); Caitlin McAuliffe and Remy Margaret Corbin (Betty-Lou Who); Brandon Saldivar and Imahni King-Murillo (Boo Who); and Luke Babbitt and Dylan Nalbandian (Danny Who).

Completing the company are Jacob Caltrider, Megan Carmitchel, Nancy Snow Carr, David Coffey, Kevin Davison, Sophia Dimmick, Randall Dodge, Krysten Hafso-Koppman, Brooke Henderson, Katelyn Katz, Hourie Klijian, Gabi Leibowitz, Nathan Riley, Kendall Skye, Isabella Walther-Meade and Elliot Weaver. "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! is a whimsical musical based upon the classic Dr. Seuss book," press notes state. "Back for its 16th year, the family favorite features the songs 'Santa for a Day,' 'You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch' and 'Welcome, Christmas (Fah Who Doraze),' the delightful carol from the popular animated version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas! Celebrate the holidays as the Old Globe Theatre is once again transformed into the snow-covered Whoville, right down to the last can of Who-hash."

The production features musical direction by Elan McMahan, additional choreography by Bob Richard and restaged choreography by James Vásquez. The creative team also includes John Lee Beatty (scenic design), Robert Morgan (costume design), Pat Collins (lighting design), Paul Peterson (sound design), Anita Ruth (orchestrator), Joshua Rosenblum (vocal arrangements and incidental music), David Krane (dance music arranger), Caparelliotis Casting (casting) and Leila Knox (stage manager).

The original production of Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! was conceived and directed by Jack O'Brien with additional lyrics by Theodor S. Geisel, additional music by Albert Hague and original choreography by John DeLuca.

The production's run will also include an autism-friendly performance Dec. 14 at 10:30 AM.
