The free event is scheduled to take place at the Dramatists Guild's Frederick Loewe Room at 5:30 PM.

Rebeck will guide the conversation with Gurney, delving into such topics as "the rigor, rewards and beauty of [the] craft," as a release notes. Questions from the audience will also be addressed at the end of the evening.

The DuoLogues series opened in May with a conversation between Broadway composers John Kander and Stephen Flaherty.

Gurney — recently represented Off-Broadway by Crazy Mary — has also penned the plays Indian Blood, Mrs. Farnsworth, Big Bill, Far East, Sylvia, The Cocktail Hour, Love Letters and The Dining Room — the latter two earning him finalist status for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1985 and 1990, respectively.

Rebeck — a Council member — hits Broadway for the first time with her new work Mauritius. Other plays include The Scene, The Water's Edge, Bad Dates, The Butterfly Collection and Spike Heels. She also co-wrote, with Alexandra Gersten Vassilaros, the 2004 Pulitzer finalist Omnium Gatherum.
