News Dramatists Guild's "DuoLogues" Series to Feature Chats with Rebeck and Gurney Playwrights Theresa Rebeck and A.R. Gurney will take part in a conversation as part of The Dramatists Guild of America's "DuoLogues" seminar series Sept. 20.

The free event is scheduled to take place at the Dramatists Guild's Frederick Loewe Room at 5:30 PM.

Rebeck will guide the conversation with Gurney, delving into such topics as "the rigor, rewards and beauty of [the] craft," as a release notes. Questions from the audience will also be addressed at the end of the evening.

The DuoLogues series opened in May with a conversation between Broadway composers John Kander and Stephen Flaherty.

Gurney — recently represented Off-Broadway by Crazy Mary — has also penned the plays Indian Blood, Mrs. Farnsworth, Big Bill, Far East, Sylvia, The Cocktail Hour, Love Letters and The Dining Room — the latter two earning him finalist status for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1985 and 1990, respectively.

Rebeck — a Council member — hits Broadway for the first time with her new work Mauritius. Other plays include The Scene, The Water's Edge, Bad Dates, The Butterfly Collection and Spike Heels. She also co-wrote, with Alexandra Gersten Vassilaros, the 2004 Pulitzer finalist Omnium Gatherum. For reservations to the evening with Rebeck and Gurney at the Frederick Loewe Room, 1501 Broadway (between 43rd and 44th Streets), Suite 710, contact Tari Stratton at [email protected] or call (212) 398-9366, ext. 20.
