A one-hour primetime holiday special featuring the beloved red "Sesame Street" character will air during the holiday season on ABC.
The trade publication reports Foxx and Hudson will be featured along with Ben Stiller; "The Sopranos" actors Tony Sirico and Steve Schirripa; singers Alicia Keys, Sheryl Crow and Brad Paisley; as well as "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" host Ty Pennington.
Foxx and Hudson will perform musical numbers as will Keys, Crow, Paisley and Pennington.
Stiller (This Is How It Goes) will provide the voice to a muppet named Stiller the Elf, who will narrate the special. Sirico and Shirripa will play Bert and Ernie "with guidance from the real Muppets." Elmo's "Sesame" co-stars will include Big Bird, Grover, Oscar, Count von Count and Snuffleupagus.
Hudson won an Academy Award for her performance as Effie White in "Dreamgirls."
