Curated by Young Soon Kim, artistic director of White Wave, the event is part of the ninth annual DUMBO art under the bridge festival. This year's DUMBO art under the bridge festival is anticipated to be the largest, most comprehensive gathering to date. Over 250,000 people are expected to attend the three-day fine-arts festival, held in the streets, along the Brooklyn waterfront, and in the myriad galleries, studios, and performance spaces in the DUMBO area.
The festival highlights include works by Amos Pinhasi, Augusto Soledade, Brendan McCall, Freespace Dance, Tanzprojekt Elfi Schaefer-Schafroth, Airelise, Jin-Wen Yu Dance, alban elved dance company, Abraham, Leah Cox, Lisa K. Lock, Mary Fitzgerald, Natasa Trifan Performance Group [NTPG], Neel Dejong, NOA Dance Nelly van Bommel, Nina Winthrop and Dancers, noel macduffie performance, Danscores by Ofelia Loret de Mola, Pele Bauch, KineticArchitecture, Ryuji Yamaguchi, Sasha Spielvogel, Sue Bernhard Danceworks, Tiffany Mills Company, tompricedance, Tracie Stanford, Wanjiru Kamuyu, WHITE WAVE/ Young Soon Kim, and Yoshiko Chuma and the School of Hard Knocks, just to name a few.
Well over 350 performers will perform innovative contemporary dance, from passion-spilling drama to gut-splitting humor in this interdisciplinary dance arts event. The grand scale and diversity of this cutting-edge festival distinguishes the annual DUMBO dance festival from its New York cousins.
