Presented as part of Westport's "Funny Mondays" series, The Real Tabasco – penned by Deborah Grace Winer – begins "when a prize-winning show dog escapes the tarmac at LaGuardia Airport. The Real Tabasco captures the ensuing crisis of the entangled lives of a blue-collar Astoria couple with marriage problems, an immigrant baggage handler, and an under-employed actress leading the rescue effort," press notes state. Two additional cast members will be announced shortly. Kaitlin Hopkins will direct the 7 PM reading, which will be followed by a discussion with the cast and playwright.
Karen Ziemba, who currently stars in the Kander and Ebb musical Curtains, earned a 2000 Tony Award for Contact. She has appeared on Broadway in Never Gonna Dance, Steel Pier, Chicago, Crazy for You, and A Chorus Line. Additional credits include And the World Goes 'Round, 110 in the Shade, The Most Happy Fella and I Do! I Do!.
Duncan has appeared on Broadway in Chicago, Canterbury Tales (Tony Award nomination), The Boyfriend (Tony nomination), Peter Pan (Tony nomination) and My One and Only. She has appeared Off-Broadway in Ceremony of Innocence and Your Own Thing and in Los Angeles in Vanities. On television she has appeared in "Funny Face" (Emmy nomination) and "Roots" (Emmy nomination), among other shows. Duncan will appear in the City Center Encores! production of No, No, Nannette this May.
