The adaptation of the classic Robert Lewis Stevenson novel is currently filming in Puerto Rico and Ireland. Izzard has been cast as dastardly pirate Long John Silver, with Sutherland as Flint and Wood as Ben Gunn.
Izzard, a Tony Award nominee for his performance in A Day in the Death of Joe Egg, recently appeared on Broadway in Race. Known for his provocative standup comedy, he was an Olivier Award nominee for Eddie Izzard: Live at the Ambassadors and also appeared in David Mamet's Cryptogram in London.
Emmy Award winner Sutherland ("Citizen X," "Dirty Sexy Money," "MASH") has stage credits including Ten Unknowns, Lolita and Buck White. Screen star Wood is best known for his work as Frodo in the "Lord of the Rings" films.
"Treasure Island" is set to air on Syfy in early 2012.
