News Edelman, Clark, Carmello and Baldwin Set for Sondheim's Opening Doors Casting has been announced for the upcoming Stephen Sondheim revue, Opening Doors, which will play Carnegie Hall's Zankel Hall this fall.

A spokesperson for the famed Hall confirmed that Gregg Edelman, Victoria Clark, Carolee Carmello and Kate Baldwin will comprise the four-person cast. David Kernan directs the production, which will play Zankel Hall Sept. 30-Oct. 9 with an official opening set for Oct. 5. The revue, first staged in London and then titled Moving On, features more than 40 Sondheim classics and will take the theatregoer “on a musical journey through Sondheim’s life, illustrated by images, song and personal narration by the composer.”

In addition to director Kernan, the creative team will also include James Scott Wise (choreographer), Walt Spangler (scenic designer), Jane Greenwood (costume consultant), Peter Hylenski (sound designer), Jason Carr (musical arrangements), Rob Berman (music director and piano).

Composer-lyricist Stephen Sondheim has written a plethora of musicals, including A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Company, A Little Night Music, Into the Woods, Merrily We Roll Along, Sweeney Todd, Sunday in the Park with George and Passion. He also contributed lyrics to West Side Story and Gypsy, and his newest musical, Bounce, recently played Chicago and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. His revised production of The Frogs — starring Nathan Lane — is currently on stage at Lincoln Center Theater. Sondheim was also celebrated at the Kennedy Center with all-star stagings of six of his musicals — Company, Sweeney, Merrily, Night Music, Sunday and Passion.

Kate Baldwin, who appeared in this summer's production of Guys and Dolls at the Paper Mill Playhouse, received a Helen Hayes Award nomination for her performance as Nellie Forbush in Arena Stage’s South Pacific. She appeared in the original ensemble of Broadway’s Thoroughly Modern Millie and was a late-run ensemble player in The Full Monty.

Carolee Carmello was most recently on Broadway in Urinetown. She received a Drama Desk Award and a Tony nomination for her performance in Lincoln Center’s Parade, and she also starred on Broadway in Kiss Me, Kate; The Scarlet Pimpernel; 1776; City of Angels; and Falsettos. Carmello received an Obie Award for her work in the Off-Broadway musical Hello Again, and her other Off-Broadway credits include Elegies, A Class Act, john and jen, Das Barbecü, I Can Get It for You Wholesale and The Vagina Monologues. Victoria Clark, who recently appeared in Adam Guettel's new musical The Light in the Piazza, created the role of Alice Beane in the Tony Award winning musical Titanic. Her other Broadway credits include roles in Cabaret, How To Succeed in Business without Really Trying, A Grand Night for Singing and Sunday in the Park with George. Off-Broadway she was seen in Marathon Dancing, and Clark also starred in a regional production of Tina Landau and Ricky Ian Gordon's State of Independence. Her screen credits include "Law & Order," "The Cradle Will Rock," "Aladdin," "Hunchback of Notre Dame" and "Anastasia."

Gregg Edelman currently stars opposite Donna Murphy in Wonderful Town at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. He received Tony nominations for his performances in City of Angels, Into the Woods, Anna Karenina and 1776, and his other Broadway credits include Passion, Falsettos, Cabaret, Anything Goes, Les Misérables, Oliver! and Cats. Edelman is married to actress Carolee Carmello.
