Performances begin January 23 at NYU Skirball for the return engagement of Elevator Repair Service’s award-winning Gatz, based on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby. Last seen in New York in 2012, the show is an eight-hour dramatization of the entire novel, word for word.

ERS' Gatz is is playing a limited run through February 3. The marathon reading runs for eight hours, including two intermissions and a dinner break. During the meal break, NYU Skirball will screen Shaun Irons’ film Standing By in the lower lobby.

ERS Artistic Director John Collins directs a cast made up of Laurena Allan, Frank Boyd, Jim Fletcher, Ross Fletcher, Lindsay Hockaday, Vin Knight, Aaron Landsman, Annie McNamara, Gavin Price, Kate Scelsa, Scott Shepherd, Pete Simpson, Susie Sokol, Tory Vazquez, and Ben Jalosa Williams. Two roles are played by different actors at select performances.

Steve Bodow is associate director, Ariana Smart Truman is producer, Lindsay Hockaday is associate producer, Louisa Thompson is set designer, Colleen Werthmann is costume designer, Mark Barton is lighting designer, Ben Williams is sound designer, Jason Sebastian is sound engineer, Maurina Lioce is stage manager, Liz Nielsen is production manager, and Aaron Amodt is technical director.
