News Emily Skinner Is Ursula, Chuck Wagner Is Jean Valjean, Steve Blanchard Is King Arthur, Dee Hoty Is Desiree in Lyric's Summer Season Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma has announced principal casting and creative teams for its 2014 season of summer shows. Among the casts will be such Broadway favorites as Steve Blanchard, George Dvorsky, Dee Hoty, Emily Skinner and Chuck Wagner, among others.

All four productions — Les Miserables, Disney's The Little Mermaid, Monty Python's Spamalot and A Little Night Music — will be presented at the Civic Center Music Hall in Oklahoma City.

"We are delighted to have an incredibly talented group joining us this summer," said Michael Baron, Lyric’s artistic director, in a statement. “Their combined efforts will produce four extraordinary productions for our Oklahoma audiences. I’m particularly thrilled about our new productions of Les Miserables, which will include over 100 voices, and Stephen Sondheim’s A Little Night Music, starring Tony Award nominee Dee Hoty and George Dvorsky."

The season will kick off June 24-28 with the international hit musical Les Miserables, directed by Michael Baron. The cast will be headed by Chuck Wagner, Victoria Huston-Elem and Danny Rothman as Jean Valjean, Fantine and Javert, respectively. Lyric favorites Julie Johnson and Tommy Cunningham will also appear as the scheming innkeepers, the Thenardiers.

Directed by Lyn Cramer and choreographed by Brian J. Marcum, Disney's The Little Mermaid will run July 8-12. Side Show Tony nominee Emily Skinner will star as the evil Ursula with Amanda Lea LaVergne as Ariel.

The Tony-winning Best Musical Monty Python's Spamalot will play the Oklahoma City venue July 22-26. Lyric associate artistic director Ashley Wells will direct a cast that includes Steve Blanchard as King Arthur, Meredith Inglesby as Lady of the Lake, Matthew Alvin Brown as Sir Robin and Monte Riegel Wheeler as Sir Lancelot. Brian Barry choreographs. Tony nominee Dee Hoty will have the chance to interpret the classic Stephen Sondheim ballad "Send in the Clowns" in the Lyric production of A Little Night Music, which will be presented Aug. 5-9. Playing opposite Hoty will be George Dvorsky as Fredrick Egerman with Emily Skinner as Charlotte Malcolm as well as Mateja Govich, Lexi Windsor and Charlotte Franklin. The production will feature music direction by David Andrews Rogers, direction by Michael Baron and choreography by Jeremy Benton.

The productions will also have scenic designs by Michael Raiford for Les Miserables and Adam Koch for A Little Night Music, lighting design by Helena Kuukka, sound design by Toby Algya, costume design by Jeffrey Meek and properties design by Courtney Strong. Edward G. Robinson, Michael Lavine and Zak Sandler will music direct Les Miserables, The Little Mermaid and Spamalot, respectively.
