News Emily Skinner Will Be The Drowsy Chaperone The Tony-winning musical will play the Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma.

Tony nominee Emily Skinner (Side Show, Billy Elliot) will star in the title role of the Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma’s The Drowsy Chaperone, which runs August 9-13 at the Civic Center Music Hall.

The cast will also feature Martin Burke as Man in Chair with Casey Elizabeth Gill as Janet Van De Graff, Monte Riegel Wheeler as Aldolfo, Mandy Jiran as Mrs. Tottendale and Jordan Beall as Robert Martin. The ensemble comprises Vince Leseney, Lexi Windsor, Chad Anderson, Sheridan McMichael, Eric McNaughton, Kai Daly, Anna Uzele, Mattie Joyner, Alexander H. Miller, Kaitlin Nelson and Patrick Nowak.

Lyn Cramer directs and choreographs this production with musical direction by David Andrews Rogers.

In The Drowsy Chaperone, according to press notes, “the audience will join the ’man in chair’ as he plays his favorite musical recording — The Drowsy Chaperone. The audience sees the musical’s characters come to life in a show within the show, and enjoys the man’s asides and tidbits as he watches his favorite musical along with us.”

Other members of the creative team include Jeffrey Meek as costume designer, Helena Kuukka as lighting designer, Anthony Risi as sound designer and Courtney Strong as props designer.
