News Emma Thompson and Bryn Terfel in Negotiations to Reprise Sweeney Todd at London Coliseum Emma Thompson and Bryn Terfel are in negotiations to star in Sweeney Todd again next year, reprising the roles of Mrs. Lovett and the title role at the London Coliseum next March and April that they previously played this past March at New York's Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center with the New York Philharmonic.

According to a story in the U.K.'s Daily Mail, Lonny Price is "in negotiation" to direct for the English National Opera. It is also stated: "Contracts for Emma and Terfel have yet to be fnalised, though both have agreed in principle to participate." The production would be the first in a series of musical theatre partnerships that have previously been announced that ENO will stage with Michael Grade and Michael Linnit.

According to press materials at the time the iniative was announced, "This partnership will harness the world-class producing and technical teams at ENO and the commercial experience of Grade and Linnit. The aim is to attract even broader audiences to the London Coliseum – which has a long history of staging great musical entertainment – and help to develop audiences for both opera and music theatre."

Further details are yet to be announced.
