News English-Language Version of "The Wind Rises" Will Feature Voices of Mandy Patinkin, Stanley Tucci, Darren Criss and More The voice talent for the English-language version of Studio Ghibli's animated film "The Wind Rises" has been announced.

The film will open in select North American theaters Feb. 21, 2014, prior to an expanded release Feb. 28.

"The Wind Rises" marks director Hayao Miyazaki's final film.

The English-language voice cast of "The Wind Rises" is directed by Gary Rydstrom, a seven-time Academy Award-winning sound designer ("Saving Private Ryan," "Titanic").

The cast includes Joseph Gordon-Levitt ("Inception," Lincoln"), John Krasinski ("The Office," "Away We Go"), Emily Blunt ("Into the Woods," "Looper"), Tony winner Martin Short (The Goodbye Girl, Little Me), Tony nominee Stanley Tucci (Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, Execution of Justice), Tony winner Mandy Patinkin (Evita, Sunday in the Park with George), Werner Herzog ("Jack Reacher," “Grizzly Man"), William H. Macy (Our Town, Oleanna), Mae Whitman ("Arrested Development," "The Perks of Being a Wallflower"), Jennifer Grey ("Dirty Dancing," The Twilight of the Golds), Darren Criss ("Glee," How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying), Elijah Wood ("The Lord of the Rings," "Celeste & Jesse Forever") and Ronan Farrow ("From Up on Poppy Hill") .

Also featured are Zach Callison ("Sofia the First," "Mr. Peabody and Sherman"), Eva Bella ("Frozen," "Despicable Me 2"), Madeleine Rose Yen (War Horse, Irving Berlin's White Christmas), Edie Mirman ("Epic," "Howl's Moving Castle" English-language version) and David Cowgill ("Madagascar"). Here's how the film is billed: "In 'The Wind Rises,' Jiro dreams of flying and designing beautiful airplanes, inspired by the famous Italian aeronautical designer Caproni. Nearsighted and unable to be a pilot, he becomes one of the world's most accomplished airplane designers, experiencing key historical events in an epic tale of love, perseverance and the challenges of living and making choices in a turbulent world."

The film is produced by Studio Ghibli and executive-produced by Frank Marshall.
