News Ensemble Studio Theater Postpones Annual One-Act Marathon to November
The Ensemble Studio Theater has postponed its annual one-act marathon until November, a press spokesman confirmed.

The Marathon, which will be 27 years old this year, is EST's best known attraction, a legendary spring event in the New York theatre world. Playwrights who have participated in past marathons include Christopher Durang, Herb Gardner, Frank Gilroy, Richard Greenberg, David Ives, Michael John LaChiusa, Craig Lucas, David Mamet, Steve Martin, Arthur Miller, Marsha Norman, Joyce Carol Oates, Paul Rudnick, John Patrick Shanley, Shel Silverstein, Wendy Wasserstein and Tennessee Williams.

In past years, the Marathon consisted of three separate evenings of four plays. In 2003, however, it offered two series of five plays.

No line-up for November has been announced.

In the marathon's place, EST will present a three-week series of staged readings, titled "Screen Door." Details are yet to be announced.

For more information on the Marathon at E.S.T., 549 West 52nd Street, call (212) 247 4982 or visit www.ensemblestudiotheatre.org.
