News EST Fundraiser Will Feature One-Acts by Rapp, Fox and Holtham New one-act plays by Adam Rapp, Amy Fox and J. Holtham will be presented at a fundraiser for Ensemble Studio Theatre's Young Director's Program April 8 at 7 PM at EST.

The evening will also feature a silent auction with items donated by Christopher Shinn and Tony Kushner, among others.

EST's Young Director's Program, also known as the Gang of Four, is comprised of four promising early-career theatre directors. Over the course of a season, the directors take a hands-on role within the theatre and have responsibilities that range from literary management, to mentoring interns, to directing plays. This year's directors are Andrew Bergh, Andre Ford, Destiny Lilly and Justin Quinn Pelegano.

Adam Rapp's play Essential Self-Defense is currently running at Playwrights Horizons. His other plays include Red Light Winter (Pulitzer Prize finalist, Obie Award), Blackbird (two Drama Desk nominations), Stone Cold Dead Serious, Nocturne, Ghosts in the Cottonwoods, Animals and Plants, Finer Noble Gases, Faster, Trueblinka, Dreams of the Salthorse and Gompers. He has written seven novels, and he wrote and directed his first feature film, "Winter Passing," starring Ed Harris, Will Ferrell and Zooey Deschanel, for Focus Features.

Fox's play One Thing I Like To Say Is was a 2007 finalist for the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize. Her screenplay "Heights" was produced by Merchant Ivory and was released in 2005. Holtham's works include Posterity, 11th Hour and Isle of Joy.
