News Eva Marie Saint and Jeffrey Hayden Will Read Love Letters In San Francisco Academy Award winner Eva Marie Saint ("On the Waterfront") and her husband, Emmy-winning director Jeffrey Hayden will star in A. R. Gurney's Love Letters June 11-12 at the The RRazz Room at Hotel Nikko San Francisco.

Show time both days is 3 PM. 

Love Letters, according to press notes, "centers on two characters, Melissa Gardner (Saint) and Andrew Makepeace Ladd III (Hayden), as they read the hilarious and poignant letters that have passed between them throughout their lives. . . . [The play] paints a vivid portrait of two charter members of the privileged set, as their relationship unfolds from what is written - and what is left unsaid - in their letters."

The work premiered at Connecticut's Long Wharf Theatre in 1989 with Joanna Gleason and John Rubenstein and has been performed all around the world. Laura Linney and Steven Weber starred in a television version of the play.

A.R. Gurney's plays also include Black Tie, The Dining Room, The Cocktail Party, The Perfect Party, Another Antigone, A Cheever Evening, Sylvia, Ancestral Voices and Buffalo Gal. He is the recipient of a Drama Desk Award, a Rockefeller Award and two Lucille Lortel Awards.
