News Evening of Songs by Miller and Tysen— with McElroy and Caplan—Plays Ars Nova Nov. 12 An evening of songs by the Richard Rogers Award-winning team of Chris Miller (music) and Nathan Tysen (lyrics) will play Ars Nova Nov. 12.

Entitled Uncharted: The Songs of Chris Miller and Nathan Tysen, the event will include performances by Michael McElroy (Big River), Matt Caplan (the upcoming High Fidelity), Brandon Ellis (the new Broadway revival of Company), Charlie Brady, Daniel Zaitchik, Halle Petro and Katherine McClain. They will sing tunes from the Miller-Tysen musicals True Fans, The Mysteries of Harris Burdick and The Burnt Part Boys. Vadim Feichter (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee) is the musical director.

True Fans won the duo their Rogers Award, which they shared with Bill Rosenfield, who wrote the book. The musical is an adaptation of the 1999 documentary about three basketball fans who bike from California to the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, MA.

The Mysteries of Harris Burdick, an adaptation of the Chris Van Allsburg book, went up in the West End and will get a workshop at Playwrights Horizons in December. The Burnt Part Boys was presented at Barrington Stage Company this past summer.

The pair also won the 2003 Jonathan Larson Award and the 2004 Daryl Roth Creative Spirit Award.

Ars Nova is at 511 West 54th Street. Tickets, priced $15, are available at the box office, at www.smarttix.com or by calling (212) 868-4444.
