Classic Arts News Facing Labor Dispute, Teatro Col‹n Suspends Performances Buenos Aires's culture secretary has suspended performances at Teatro Col‹n for the rest of the year because of an ongoing labor dispute, the news agency EFE reports.
The decision came after the opera house's technical and administrative workers, who are seeking wage increases and better working conditions, said that they would stage the latest in a series of strikes. Government sources told EFE that the strike would be the workers' 39th of the year.

In September, the dispute disrupted a festival organized by pianist Martha Argerich, forcing the cancellation of several performances and the relocation of others.
