News Faded, by Daily News Scribe Dominguez, Begins Fringe Run Aug. 15 Robert Dominguez, an entertainment reporter for the New York Daily News, has penned a new play entitled Faded.

Part of the 10th Annual New York International Fringe Festival, Faded plays a limited engagement Aug. 15-26 at The Players Theatre. Veronica Caicedo directs a cast that comprises Angie Kristic, Carlos Molina, Belange Rodriguez, Michael Perri, John Cannatella and Amneris Morales.

Faded, according to press notes, concerns "hard-boiled reporter Lolita Lacey [who] used to be a well-respected broadcast journalist – until her penchant for drinking, drugging and dating married men ruined her career. Now toiling for a sensationalistic tabloid, Lolita stumbles upon a story she believes will restore her reputation: the discovery of an old photograph that seemingly depicts a U.S. president and a Hollywood legend in a compromising position."

Dominguez has also penned The Outside Man, Red Sky and Operation: Deserves to Die.

Faded will be presented Aug. 15 at 10:45 PM, Aug. 17 at 7 PM, Aug. 19 at 9:45 PM, Aug. 24 at 7:30 PM and Aug. 26 at 1:15 PM.

The Players Theatre is located at 115 MacDougal Street. Tickets, priced at $15, are available by calling (212) 279-4488 or by visiting www.FringeNYC.org.
