PlayBlog Fantasia Barrino Ready to Get Back to Work After Overdose The Color Purple star and "American Idol" winner Fantasia Barrino is getting ready to promote her new album a week after her overdose from a mix of aspirin and sleeping pills.

According to The Associated Press, Barrino will appear on "Good Morning America," "Live with Regis and Kelly" and other talk shows in the coming weeks to promote her new album, "Back to Me," which arrives in stores Aug. 24.

The singer was hospitalized Aug. 9 after overdosing in her Charlotte, N.C. home. She said in a statement that she "can't thank my fans enough for their prayers and support during such a challenging time."
