News Fatal Attraction—with Corey Feldman—Changes Off-Broadway Dates; Casting Announced The Off-Broadway production of Fatal Attraction: A Greek Tragedy — billed as a “deconstructed, parodic [version] of the seminal 80’s film" — will begin previews at the East 13th Street Theatre July 1, one day later than originally announced.

Starring former teen star Corey Feldman — seen in such films as "Stand By Me" and "Goonies" — the play will officially open July 10 and run through Aug. 27. The comedy, written by Alana McNair and Kate Wilkinson, will be directed by Timothy Haskell. Feldman will star in the role created on screen by Michael Douglas. The cast will also feature Alana McNair as Glenn, Kate Wilkinson as Anne with Kellie Arens, Nick Arens, Ebony Cross, Aaron Haskell and Sergio Lobito.

The comedy, according to production notes, "lovingly, liberally and loosely satirizes the well-known thriller film from 1987. A big-time corporate lawyer has a one-night stand with a no-nonsense business woman while his wife is away. When the corporate hag forgets her place, all heck breaks loose! The park, the opera, the bunny, and the tub ensue. Skewering the film’s blatant fear of the successful business woman, and celebration of traditional family values, this Greek Tragedy adopts a chorus that comments on the action by using texts from the Greek tragedy oeuvre, as well as from turn of the century home etiquette propaganda."

The Fatal Attraction creative team comprises Rebeca Ramirez (dance choreography), Rod Kinter (fight choreography), Wendy Yang (costume design), Tyler Micoleau (lighting design), Paul Smithyman (set design), Faye Armon (props) and Vincent Olivieri (sound design).

Corey Feldman's numerous film credits include "Goonies," "Lost Boys," "Gremlins," "Stand By Me," "License to Drive," "The 'burbs" and "Bordello of Blood." He has also been seen on the small screen in "The Bad News Bears" and the first season of the reality series "The Surreal Life."

The 1987 film "Fatal Attraction" — written by James Dearden and Nicholas Meyer — featured Michael Douglas as Dan Gallagher, a married man whose one-night affair with Alex Forrest (Glenn Close) turns deadly. The film was nominated for six Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Fatal Attraction: A Greek Tragedy will play Tuesday-Saturday evenings at 8 PM, with additional performances Fridays and Saturdays at 10:30 PM and Sundays at 6 PM. Tickets, priced $45 and $50, are now available by calling (212) 279-4200 or by visiting www.ticketcentral.com. The East 13th Street Theatre is located at 136 East 13th Street between Third and Fourth Avenues, just southeast of Union Square.
