News Feiffer and Anderman Cast in Boston Run of Wasserstein's Third at Huntington Stage and screen actress Halley Feiffer, seen in the current film "Margot at the Wedding," will appear with Maureen Anderman in the upcoming Huntington Theatre Company staging of Wendy Wasserstein's Third.

Richard Seer directs. Performancs play Jan. 4-Feb. 3, 2008, in Boston. Opening night is Jan. 9 on the Huntington's main stage at the Boston University Theatre.

Anderman (The Lady from Dubuque, Seascape) and Feiffer (subUrbia, Election Day) are joined in the cast by Graham Hamilton, Jonathan McMurtry and Robin Pearson Rose.

Third — the late Wasserstein's final play — centers on "a revered, fifty-four year old professor at an elite New England college," according to a release. "A pioneer in her field, Laurie's seemingly well-ordered life and career slowly become unhinged when she meets Woodson Bull, III (whose friends call him 'Third'), an articulate and conservative student wrestler. Laurie and Third face off in a series of confrontations over politics, ethics, and Shakespeare, forcing her to reevaluate many of her long-held beliefs. Are the differences between us really as clear as we think?"

Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Wasserstein penned The Heidi Chronicles, An American Daughter, Uncommon Women and Others, Isn't it Romantic? and The Sisters Rosensweig. Huntington staged Rosensweig in 2005.

The design team for Third features Ralph Funicello (scenic), Robert Morgan (costumes), Matthew Richards (lighting) and Bruce Ellman (sound). Stephen M. Kaus serves as production stage manager. Huntington next presents Kate Moira Ryan with Judy Gold's 25 Questions for a Jewish Mother (Dec. 18-31). The season will continue with Conor McPherson's Shining City (March 7-April 6, 2008), Sinan Unel's The Cry of the Reed (March 28-May 4, 2008) and the Jerry Bock-Sheldon Harnick-Joe Masteroff musical She Loves Me (May 16-June 15, 2008).

Tickets to Third at the Huntington's B. U. Theatre, 264 Huntington Avenue in Boston, MA, are available by phone at (617) 266-0800 or online at huntingtontheatre.org.
