Feinstein hosted a Dec. 6 opening night celebration for the show which coincided with the birthday of the singer’s former mentor, legendary lyricist Ira Gershwin.

Feinstein performs American standards in his December engagement, which is titled “Michael Feinstein: A Holiday Romance.” In October, Feinstein celebrated the release of his latest Concords Records CD, "Romance on Film & Romance on Broadway," with a private party at Feinstein's at the Regency. Included in that recording are such tracks as Herman Hupfeld's "As Time Goes By," Irving Berlin's "Always" and Lorenz Hart and Richard Rodgers' "My Funny Valentine."

Feinstein started his career in music 20 years ago with an encyclopedic knowledge of American popular song. He was Ira Gershwin's archivist in the early '80s working one-on-one with the lyricist before moving on to establish himself as a successful interpreter of standards. Having worked with many of the world's top songwriters, singers and musicians—including Jule Styne, Rosemary Clooney and John Dankworth, Feinstein has filled the gap left by the closing of the venerable Rainbow and Stars by starting his own room, Feinstein's at the Regency.

At Feinstein's there is a cover charge that ranges from $50 on week nights to $75 on weekends. Food and beverage minimums apply. There are late shows on Friday and Saturday. For more information and reservations call (212) 339-4095.
